How to Use the New Product Customizer | Apliiq

Get started with the new product customizer

The new product customizer gives you one place to select a product, add artwork or text, review decoration details, create mockups, and complete your product.

This guide introduces the main areas of the customizer and walks through the basic process.

The main areas of the customizer

Design toolbar

Use the toolbar on the left side of larger screens or along the bottom of a phone to open the primary design tools:

  • Product — choose the product or change product details.

  • Colors — choose the garment colors you want to offer.

  • Artwork — upload artwork, select an existing file, or reuse digitized embroidery.

  • Text — create text artwork using a font, color, alignment, and spacing of your choice.

  • Branding — review and add available branding options.

  • Help — open customer support documentation. On smaller screens, help remains available through the site navigation.

Tool drawer

The tool drawer opens next to the toolbar. Its options change based on the tool you select. Close the drawer when you want more room to review the product.

Product workspace

The workspace displays the product and the artwork placed on it. Select an artwork to move it, rotate it, review its details, or make available edits.

Review panel

The review panel summarizes the product colors, decorations, branding, and selected mockups. Use it to confirm the design before saving, ordering, or adding the product to a store.

Create a product

  1. Navigate to a Product and select the product you want to customize.

  2. Open Colors and choose the garment colors you want to offer.

  3. Open Artwork to upload a new file, choose an existing artwork, or select a digitized embroidery file.

  4. Choose the appropriate decoration method for each artwork.

  5. Position the artwork within the available placement area.

  6. Add custom text or branding when needed.

  7. Switch to mockup mode and review the recommended mockups.

  8. Open the review panel and confirm the product details.

  9. Save the design, buy the product, or add it to your store.

Design mode and mockup mode

Use Design mode while placing and editing artwork. Switch to Mockup mode when you are ready to create customer-facing product images.

Mockups are visual previews. Your uploaded production artwork and any attached high-resolution file remain separate from the mockup images.

Tips for better results

  • Start with the highest-quality artwork available.

  • Keep artwork inside the indicated placement area.

  • Review the size and quality assessment before completing the product.

  • Use a digitized file when reusing embroidery that has already been prepared.

  • Review every selected garment color because artwork can appear differently on light and dark products.
