Get Started With the Product Editor

Idea

Learn how to open a saved product, navigate the Product Editor, review product details, and choose the correct next action.

The Product Editor gives you one place to review and update a product you have already saved. You can change its colors, artwork, text, branding, and garment; review its mockups; buy the product; and publish current changes to a connected store or purchase items.

Warning
Changes made to a saved design will be applied to future orders, but not open orders.

Open a saved product

     1. Sign in to your Apliiq account.
     2. Open Saved Designs.
     3. Select the product you want to review or update.
     4. The saved product opens in the Product Editor.

The editor loads the saved garment, active product colors, artwork placements, branding, product images, and connected-store status.

NotesNote: A product may contain more than one active garment color. The Product Editor keeps those colors together as one product experience, even though each color has its own saved product information behind the scenes.

Understand the Product Editor layout

Design toolbar

Use the toolbar to open the main product tools:

  • Product — start a new design, change the garment, or copy the current
    design to another product.
  • Colors — add or remove the garment colors offered for the product.
  • Artwork — add, remove, replace, reposition, resize, or edit artwork.
  • Text — add custom text or edit text already used on the product.
  • Branding — review and assign available branding supplies.
  • Info — review product and inventory information.
  • Activity — review product activity and available saved versions.

Selecting a tool opens its drawer beside the toolbar. Close the drawer when you want more room to inspect the product.

Product workspace

The workspace displays the selected garment color and the artwork assigned to the current product view. Use the view tabs, such as Front, Right, Left, and Back, to inspect every placement available for that garment.

In Design mode, select an artwork to review its size, position, rotation, decoration method, production options, and notes.

Design and Mockups

Use the Design / Mockups control above the workspace to change what you are reviewing:

  • Design displays the editable product and artwork placements.
  • Mockups displays customer-facing product images and available mockup
    generation controls.

Saved mockups also appear in the mockup rail beside the workspace. The rail is filtered to the garment color currently selected in the action panel.

Action panel

The action panel helps you complete the next step. It includes:

  • Color to preview & buy — selects the garment color displayed in the workspace and the color used when you choose Buy.
  • Buy — opens the size and quantity workflow for the selected color.
  • Product status — explains whether the design needs to be updated, mockups are being prepared, or a connected store listing needs an update.
  • Update Design — saves changes made in the Product Editor.
  • Add to Store or Update Store — publishes the current saved product information to a connected store.
  • Product Summary — summarizes the garment, decorations, branding, and available mockup controls.

Expand the Decorations or Branding row to review individual items. These details load when the row is opened.

Select a product color

Open Color to preview & buy, then choose one of the active garment colors. The workspace and mockup rail update to that color.

The selected color is also the color added to the cart when you choose Buy. Selecting a color here does not remove the other colors offered for the saved product.

To add or remove offered colors, use the Colors tool instead.

Follow the product status

The status message in the action panel recommends the most important next step. For example, it may tell you to:

  • Update the design after making changes.
  • Wait while product images or mockups are prepared.
  • Generate high-quality mockups when enhanced images are available.
  • Update a connected store listing.
  • Take no action because the product is up to date.

High-quality mockups are recommended when available, but you can continue to Buy or Add to Store while mockups or basic product images finish in the background.  If you proceed prior to your mockups being available they won't be included in your product listing within your store.

Review a previous version

Open Activity, then use Version History to view an earlier saved version of the product. Previous versions are view-only. You can inspect the workspace, mockups, artwork, branding, and Product Summary, but you cannot edit, buy, or publish that snapshot.

Choose Return to current product when you are ready to continue working.

Next steps

  • See Edit and Update a Saved Product to make and save product changes.
  • See Manage Mockups for a Saved Product to review basic and high-quality
    product images.
  • See Update a Product in Your Connected Store to publish saved changes.
