How To Check Your Artwork To Get Clean Embroidery Results

As you probably noticed in the article how to prepare artwork for embroidery, there are some limitations with regards to embroidery and the level of detail that is possible to achieve with a clean result.  However, it can be challenging to know how much detail is too much detail.  We have created this quick video that shows you how to precisely check if your artwork will get a great result when embroidered.

Steps to check your artwork file

  1. Ensure your artwork is high resolution (300dpi) and it is sized to the actual size you will embroider, for example a 4" wide file.
  2. Select your paint brush tool and set your size to 7.55 pixels.  The smallest size embroidery can support is 2mm which is equal to 7.55px.
  3. Evaluate the shapes in your artwork to see if any shapes are smaller than 2mm.  Any shapes smaller than 2mm should be removed or updated to be larger than 2mm.
