That increase in maximum file size allowed during the initial upload should free up most partners to be able to upload the hi-res version from the start.
However, if you'd like to upload a vector format file or their original file is simply still larger than the 12 MB limit
While linking an additional high resolution file is not required in every case, doing so provides the following benefits:
So if you have a high resolution version of your file, it is best to provide it when you are designing your product.
The following file types are supported: .ai, .eps, .pdf, .png, .jpg, .bmp
Files can be up to 20 MB in file size.
Now, let's walk you through how to do that on the website.
In the first screenshot below, two digital prints have been added to the front view of the t-shirt design.
While both files are 300 dpi at their respective print sizes as per the
best artwork practices, the print highlighted in blue is only a 2" wide, one-color file and its corresponding file size is only 26 KB whereas the red box print is a 10" wide file with multiple layers and its file size is over 5 MB:
You'll notice that only one of the added digital prints has a paperclip icon to upload a high resolution version of the file and there is a reason for that.
If the size of the file you upload is over 500 KB, there will not be a paperclip icon for you to attach a hi res file.
We have also updated the website to reflect back to you the maximize
ideal print size your file supports from the get-go. And as you expand your file past the ideal print size and then past our minimum resolution requirement (150 dpi), there is now a new hi res file upload icon over on the left you can click as well in the middle of the mock up image
To link an additional high resolution file click on either the paperclip icon or the up arrow icon if available:
Then click upload to select a file from your local drive:
Please note that the paperclip icon is for a one-time-use only and will disappear after being used. So after selecting the file to upload, you must confirm the use of the one-time upload to continue:
File has been uploaded and the paperclip icon is now gone for that digital print:
If you uploaded the incorrect high resolution file, simply click the "X" to remove the print and click "add your artwork" again to get a fresh shot at adding the correct file:
