How to Place a Test Order with Wix + Apliiq

Test Your Wix Store Setup Before Going Live

Estimated read time: 3-5 minutes

Before launching your Wix store, we recommend placing a test order to make sure your Apliiq products, Wix checkout, payment settings, and order syncing are working correctly.

A test order helps confirm that your customer checkout experience is working and that paid Wix orders are sent to Apliiq for fulfillment.

Before You Begin

Before placing a test order, make sure you have completed the following setup steps:

  1. Install Wix Stores
Wix Stores must be installed on your Wix website. Wix Stores manages your products, checkout, payments, and orders.
  2. Connect your Wix store to Apliiq
Your Wix store should be connected to your Apliiq account through the Apliiq x Wix app.
  3. Create or sync at least one Apliiq product
You need at least one Apliiq product available on your Wix storefront before you can place a test order.
  4. Add a payment method in Apliiq
Apliiq requires a payment method before an order can be processed for production and shipping.

Step 1: Enable Manual Payments In Wix

To place a test order without charging a real credit card, you can enable Manual Payments in Wix.

  1. Log in to your Wix Dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Click Accept Payments.
  4. Enable Manual Payment. This may also be called Offline Payment in some Wix settings.
  5. Save your payment settings.

Manual Payment allows you to complete a test checkout without processing a real payment through your store.

Step 2: Place An Order From Your Wix Storefront

Next, place an order just like a customer would.

  1. Visit your live Wix website.
  2. Open one of your Apliiq product pages.
  3. Select the size, color, or product options you want to test.
  4. Add the product to your cart.
  5. Go to checkout.
  6. Enter your test customer information and shipping address.
  7. Select Manual Payment as the payment method.
  8. Complete the order.

After checkout, the order should appear in your Wix Orders dashboard.

Important: At this point, the order may not sync to Apliiq yet. Wix orders must be marked as paid before they are sent to Apliiq.

Step 3: Mark The Order As Paid In Wix

Apliiq only receives Wix orders after they are marked as paid.

To mark your test order as paid:

  1. Go to your Wix Dashboard.
  2. Click Orders.
  3. Open the test order you just placed.
  4. Click Mark as Paid.
  5. Confirm the change if Wix asks you to confirm.

Once the order is marked as paid, it should be sent to your Apliiq account.

Step 4: Confirm The Order Appears In Apliiq

After marking the order as paid in Wix, log in to your Apliiq account and confirm that the order synced successfully.

Check that:

  1. The order appears in your Apliiq orders.
  2. The product, size, color, and quantity are correct.
  3. The shipping address is correct.
  4. The order status matches your fulfillment settings.
  5. The order is not missing any required information.

If the order appears in Apliiq, your Wix order sync is working.

Step 5: Cancel The Test Order If You Do Not Want It Produced

If you placed the order only for testing and do not want Apliiq to produce and ship it, cancel the order right away.

You may need to cancel the order in Wix and/or in your Apliiq account, depending on where the order is visible and how your fulfillment settings are configured.

Important: Orders can move into production quickly. If you do not want the test order produced, cancel it immediately after confirming that the order synced correctly.

What A Successful Test Confirms

A successful test order confirms that:

  1. Your Apliiq product is live on your Wix storefront.
  2. Customers can add the product to cart.
  3. Wix checkout is working.
  4. Manual Payment can be used for testing.
  5. The Wix order can be marked as paid.
  6. Paid Wix orders sync to Apliiq.
  7. Apliiq receives the order details needed for fulfillment.

Once your test order is successful, you are much closer to being ready for launch.

Troubleshooting

My order is in Wix, but I do not see it in Apliiq

Confirm that the order has been marked as paid in Wix. Wix orders must be marked as paid before they are sent to Apliiq.

I do not see Manual Payment in Wix

Check your Wix payment settings under Settings > Accept Payments. Depending on your Wix account or region, Manual Payment may appear as Offline Payment.

My product is not available on my live Wix site

Make sure the product has been published and is visible on your Wix storefront. Also confirm that the product has active variants and is not hidden from your store.

I accidentally sent a real test order to Apliiq

Cancel the order as soon as possible in your Apliiq account. Orders can move into production quickly, so do not delay.

My test order has missing or incorrect information

Review the product setup in Wix and Apliiq. Confirm that the correct product, variant, size, color, and shipping details were used during checkout.

Best Practices For Test Orders

  1. Use a low-cost product for your first test.
  2. Include the word TEST in the customer name or order details if possible.
  3. Test with the same product types you plan to sell.
  4. Confirm the shipping address is valid.
  5. Cancel the order immediately if you do not want it produced.
  6. Place your test order before announcing your store or running ads.
