New DDP Canada Shipping For Apliiq Partners

New 2025 - DDP Shipping Service & Rates For Canada

Idea
For orders placed after 10/1/2025, Apliiq will ship shipments under 4lbs to Canada as DDP (deliveries duties paid).  This will ensure that your shipments can continue to enter Canada, even with the ongoing Canada Post Strike.  This means that your small shipments will automatically clear customs and be delivered directly to your end customers taxes fully paid.  Orders over 4 lbs will be shipped with UPS DDU.

No Stress, Customs & Duties Are Prepaid

Switching from DDU to DDP is a huge win for customer satisfaction and ease of use for your customers.  Not only do we completely avoid the Canada Post shutdown, packages will also show up directly at your customer's doors with no delays, or additional fees that packages going through customs would usually face!

Small Shipments Work Best!  Same Rates & Better Service.

While the trade war is impacting larger shipments from the US to Canada, small packages are not feeling the brunt of reciprocal tariffs.  Our DDP services makes use of de minis shipments to cost effectively avoid duties for small shipments.  In fact, there are no rate changes for our smallest shipment sizes of under 1lb & under 2lb.  However, we will no longer offer a separate rate for 8oz and below.

Large Shipments Will Still Be DDU

Large shipments are typically shipped with UPS, so they will not be impacted by the Canada Post strike.  For shipments over 4lb, they will be shipped with UPS DDU, so duties and customs will still be due upon delivery for these orders.

Idea
We strongly recommend splitting up larger sample orders into smaller shipments of under 3 items per shipment.  This will avoid or minimize import duties.  Additionally, we also recommend removing free shipping offers for Canada orders, and recommending your Canadian customers to make more small purchases, instead of a single larger purchase.
