The new product customizer includes tools that help prepare uploaded artwork for more accurate sizing, clearer mockups, and reliable production.
Upload the largest and clearest version of the artwork available. Transparent PNG files are recommended for raster artwork that should not include a background.
After upload, review:
The filename and artwork preview.
Pixel dimensions.
Physical width and height.
Quality assessment at the selected size.
The selected decoration method.
Increasing the physical size of raster artwork reduces its effective resolution. For example, a 12-inch-wide image at 300 DPI should be approximately 3,600 pixels wide.
Transparent space around artwork can make the file dimensions misleading. An 8-inch-wide file could contain only 4 inches of visible artwork if half the canvas is empty.
When supported artwork is uploaded, the customizer trims excessive transparent space and retains a 1-pixel transparent border around the visible artwork. This keeps the production boundary safe while making the displayed physical size more accurate.
Always confirm the final size shown in the Artwork drawer.
Use Remove white when a white background should not be printed.
Select the artwork in the workspace.
Open the Artwork drawer.
Find Remove white below the quality assessment.
Select the option and review the artwork on the garment.
Do not remove white when white is an intentional part of the design. Review the artwork on both light and dark garment colors before continuing.
Recoloring is useful when the uploaded artwork colors should match selected screen-print, embroidery, digital-print, or transfer-print colors.
For screen print and embroidery, selecting production colors can trigger color mapping. For digital print and transfer print, turn on Recolor artwork to display the color controls.
Select the artwork.
Turn on Recolor artwork when the checkbox is available.
Select up to five desired colors.
Review the recolored artwork in the workspace.
Turn off Recolor artwork to return to the unedited artwork.
The customizer detects prominent colors in suitable artwork and maps the selected production colors to the closest colors in the file. Simple artwork with distinct color areas generally produces the clearest result. Carefully review gradients, photographs, shadows, and anti-aliased details.
A stroke adds a colored outline around visible artwork. It can improve the durability of artwork containing fine details and can help separate a design from the garment color.
Select the artwork.
Turn on Add stroke.
Enter the stroke width in pixels. The recommended starting value is 3 pixels.
Select a stroke color.
Review the result at the intended physical size.
The customizer initially suggests a stroke color close to the garment color. Change it when the design requires contrast or a different production color.
Stroke width is measured in source-image pixels, so its visible effect depends on the artwork's pixel dimensions and physical print size. Avoid using a heavy stroke that closes small openings or overwhelms fine details.
Recolor and stroke can be used together. Recoloring is applied to the artwork, and the selected stroke is added around the resulting visible pixels.
Review the combined result on every selected garment color. A stroke that works on a light garment may need a different color on a dark garment.
When available, attach a larger raster, vector, or layered source file using the high-resolution artwork option. Supported files can include large PNG artwork and vector or layered formats such as PDF, SVG, AI, EPS, or PSD.
The customizer uses a prepared PNG for predictable workspace display and mockup generation. The attached high-resolution file remains associated with the artwork for production review.
If the original upload is already a supported high-resolution or vector file, the customizer can preserve that original while creating the PNG used in the workspace.
Recolor and stroke changes remain non-destructive while you design. The original artwork stays available.
When you save the design, generate mockups, buy the product, or add it to a store, the customizer:
Creates a processed PNG containing the active edits.
Saves it as a separate artwork in your artwork library.
Updates the design to use the processed artwork.
Preserves the original artwork as a separate file.
This ensures saved designs, mockups, cart products, store products, and production workflows use the edited version you approved.
Confirm that the visible artwork fills the expected file area.
Review pixel dimensions and physical dimensions.
Resolve low-quality warnings by reducing the print size or uploading a larger source.
Check white removal, recoloring, and strokes on every garment color.
Confirm that an attached high-resolution file is the correct production source.
