Digitization converts artwork into production instructions for an embroidery machine. Because digitizing a new file has additional fees, reusing completed digitized artwork can save time and avoid paying to prepare the same embroidery again.
Use Choose digitized file in the Artwork drawer to find embroidery that has already been digitized or is currently being prepared.
Open Artwork.
Select Choose digitized file.
Search by filename when necessary.
Review the status displayed below each filename.
The list can contain two statuses:
Digitized — preparation is complete and the file can be added to a product.
Digitizing — preparation is still in progress and the file cannot be selected yet.
Select a file marked Digitized. The customizer places it on the product using its production-ready dimensions.
Every completed digitized file is assigned to embroidery. It cannot be changed to digital print, transfer, screen print, or another decoration method.
Digitized embroidery has already been prepared with a specific size, stitch information, and color configuration.
You can:
Select and activate the artwork.
Move it within the placement area.
Rotate it.
Remove it from the product.
You cannot:
Resize it.
Change its embroidery colors.
Recolor the source artwork.
Change its decoration method.
A lock icon replaces the resize control while the digitized artwork is active.
Changing the physical size or color construction of digitized embroidery can change stitch density, stitch count, underlay, registration, and production quality. A different size or color setup may require a new digitized file.
If the available digitized file does not match the product you are creating, upload the original artwork as a new file and select embroidery to begin a new digitization.
A file marked Digitizing is visible so you can confirm that it is being prepared, but it remains unavailable until digitization is complete.
Return to the digitized artwork list later to check its status. If the status does not update as expected, see Troubleshoot the customizer.
