Using Apliiq’s WooCommerce App with WPEngine

Overview

Apliiq’s WooCommerce App integrates seamlessly with WordPress and WooCommerce, allowing you to manage custom apparel orders effortlessly. If you’re hosting your WooCommerce store on WPEngine, our app is compatible; however, we strongly recommend using WPEngine’s legacy configuration for optimal performance.

Important Consideration: WPEngine’s Advanced Network

WPEngine offers an Advanced Network upgrade that provides enhanced security and performance optimizations. However, we have identified that Apliiq’s WooCommerce App may not function correctly within this updated network environment. If you migrate to WPEngine’s Advanced Network and are using load balancing, you may encounter issues such as:

  • API connection failures with Apliiq accessing WooCommerce API
  • Inability to properly install the app (no webhook creation)
  • If you install the connector in the Legacy configuration, then upgrade from Legacy to Advanced, order order processing will still work, but you cannot sync new products

For these reasons, we recommend staying on WPEngine’s legacy configuration to ensure uninterrupted operation of the Apliiq WooCommerce integration.  We've notified WPengine of these issues and we are working with them to resolve this issue.

How to Check Your WPEngine Configuration

To verify your hosting setup:

  1. Log in to your WPEngine Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Sites and select your WooCommerce store.
  3. Click on Utilities and look for the "Network Configuration" setting.
  4. If it lists Advanced Network, consider reverting to the legacy configuration for full compatibility.
